Volunteer Application

TRANSPORT

Help us get animals where they need to be! As a Transport Volunteer, you'll play a vital role in our rescue by safely transporting dogs and cats to foster homes, adoption events, veterinary appointments, and other destinations. Whether you're picking up a new rescue or helping an animal get to their forever family, every ride helps save a life.

Responsibilities:

Transport animals to and from adoption events
Pick up and deliver animals to foster homes
Assist with occasional transports to veterinary appointments or other rescue-related needs

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Help keep RARE running behind the scenes! Administrative Assistant Volunteers provide essential support that allows our team to focus on saving more lives. From organizing information to assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks, your time and attention to detail make a real difference.

Responsibilities:

Assist with data entry and record keeping
Help organize documents and rescue information
Support the team with administrative and organizational tasks
Assist with special projects as needed

We're looking for someone who:

Is organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
Is comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for organizing data and tracking information
Enjoys working behind the scenes to support lifesaving efforts

SOCIAL MEDIA

Help us tell the stories that save lives! We're looking for creative volunteers who are passionate about social media and want to help grow RARE's reach through engaging content.

We're looking for creative volunteers to assist our Social Media Manager with creating engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Responsibilities may include filming, editing videos, brainstorming content ideas, and helping tell the stories of RARE's rescue animals in meaningful and creative ways.

DONATIONS ORGANIZER

Help keep our rescue stocked and organized! We're looking for a volunteer to help organize the generous donations we receive from our amazing community. From food and supplies to crates, toys, and medical items, you'll help ensure everything is easy to find and ready to go when our fosters and animals need it.

EVENTS

Love meeting people and making a difference? Join our Events Team! Event Volunteers are the face of RARE at adoption events, community festivals, and fundraisers. You'll help introduce people to our mission, connect them with our adoptable animals, and make every event a success.

Responsibilities:

Confidently educate visitors about RARE's mission and programs
Walk our adoptable dogs and introduce them to potential adopters and fosters
Answer questions about fostering, adoption, and volunteering
Help run our merchandise booth

Help RARE secure the funding needed to save more lives! We're looking for detail-oriented volunteers to assist with grant writing, fundraising initiatives, and donor outreach. Your work will directly support our ability to rescue more animals, provide medical care, and expand our programs.

Research grant opportunities that align with RARE's mission
Prepare and submit grant applications and letters of interest

MEDICAL RECORDS VOLUNTEER

Help us continue providing life-saving medical care to the animals who need it most.

RARE partners with a medical foundation that helps cover the cost of expensive veterinary procedures. We're looking for volunteers to help enter medical treatments, procedures, and invoices so we can submit them for reimbursement.

Responsibilities:

Enter medical procedures and treatment costs
Upload invoices and supporting documentation
Help ensure records are complete and accurate
