Meet Rolo — the golden-eyed boy with a heart of gold!

At just 7 months old and 38 lbs, Rolo is the kind of puppy that makes you wonder how anyone could ever let him go.

This handsome chocolate-colored boy was found abandoned and brought to a rural shelter. Sadly, we learned that Rolo had originally been advertised as free on social media. Someone took him home, kept him for a short time, and then abandoned him.

But Rolo hasn’t let his past change his beautiful spirit.

When we visited the shelter, we were immediately drawn to his stunning golden eyes. The moment we sat down on the ground, Rolo climbed right into our laps for cuddles. We knew right then that this boy was something special.

And as we’ve gotten to know him, he’s only become more amazing!

Rolo is truly the total package:

House trained AND crate trained!

Wonderful with dogs, cats, kids, and people of all ages!

Incredibly loving, affectionate, and eager to please!

Smart as can be — already knows “sit” and politely sits for his meals!

Playful, sweet, and an all-around fantastic pup!

Rolo has everything you could hope for in a companion, except the one thing he deserves most: a family who will love him and never give up on him.

He’s already experienced being unwanted and abandoned in his short life. We want to make sure the next time Rolo goes home, it’s FOREVER.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about this boy. He’s truly a little gem, and whoever adopts him is going to be incredibly lucky.

Could Rolo be your perfect match?

Let’s give Rolo the happily ever after he’s been waiting for!

Steps To Adopt

Read the adoptable’s bio above, including their adoption fee Go to RARErescue.org and read our ADOPTION PROCESS page under the "Adopt" section Complete the DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM (located on our website RARErescue.org) We understand that it is important to you to find the right fit for your family. We feel the same way! The DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIRED for this reason. All of our Adoptables are:Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines; Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program): Microchipped prior to adoptionBREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption. Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care. As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.
