Meet Hunny!
Just look at that gorgeous girl! Hunny is an absolutely stunning mauve brindle with a personality that is every bit as beautiful as she is.
Hunny LOVES her people and is an amazing companion. She's also fantastic with other dogs and has been around cats successfully, although sometimes she thinks cats are her new playmates! Because not every cat appreciates her enthusiasm, we think she'd do best with a dog-savvy cat who doesn't mind a little attention—or a home without cats.
One of the things we're most proud of with Hunny is how far she's come. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, so we've taken her to several events where she's had the opportunity to meet new dogs, people, and environments. Her confidence has grown tremendously, and we're so excited about the progress she's made!
And we've discovered one very important thing about Hunny: if you have a treat, you're her new best friend.
Hunny is house-trained and doesn't even need a crate, although she is crate-trained and comfortable with one when needed. When her people leave for work, she is perfectly happy lounging on her dog bed and waiting for them to come home. No drama—just a sweet girl who knows how to relax.
She is currently being fostered in an apartment, so a fenced yard is absolutely NOT a requirement for Hunny. A yard would certainly be nice, but what she really needs is someone willing to keep life interesting with walks, outings, new places, and continued positive exposure to people and other dogs.
And that's really what makes Hunny so special: she's just the right amount of everything. She's not bouncing off the walls, but she's not a couch potato either. She'll happily curl up and relax at home, then jump at the chance to go for a walk, take a hike, explore somewhere new, or hang out with you on a dog-friendly patio.
Because she can be shy with strangers, we recommend children 12 and older. It's not that Hunny doesn't like kids—it's simply that younger children can sometimes be unpredictable, especially when friends, neighbors, and lots of kids are coming and going. Hunny does best when people give her a little time and respect her space while she gets comfortable.
Once she trusts you, though? You're her person. ❤️
Hunny is beautiful, sweet, affectionate, dog-friendly, house-trained, adaptable, and becoming more confident every day. She's the kind of dog who can fit into so many different lifestyles—as long as her person is willing to make her part of the adventure.
