Meet Crowley 🐾💙
Crowley is proof that you really can teach an “old dog” new tricks and that sometimes the best dogs come in the biggest packages!
According to the person who surrendered him, Crowley is 10 years old, but honestly…we’re not completely convinced! Based on his energy, personality, and the way he acts, we suspect he may be closer to 6. Either way, Crowley has plenty of life and love left to give, and he certainly doesn’t act like a senior.
Crowley is a gentle giant with the sweetest soul. He absolutely LOVES kids and is incredibly sweet and gentle with them. He loves his people and wants to be included in whatever you’re doing. He’s also a total goofball who loves playing fetch, chasing balls, playing with toys, and getting some backyard time, but once the fun is over, he’s perfectly happy to stretch out on his bed or curl up on the couch with you.
Crowley is:

Crowley has also proven to be a wonderful adventure buddy. He enjoys walks and getting out with his foster family, including hanging out at dog-friendly patios and restaurants.
When Crowley first came to RARE, he was over 100 lbs. Thanks to his foster family, he has worked his way down to a much healthier 78 lbs and looks fantastic! He’s feeling better, moving better, and enjoying life to the fullest.
Crowley does prefer to be the center of attention and isn't a fan of other dogs getting in his face. Because he wasn't well socialized with other dogs when he was younger, he would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can happily soak up all the love for himself.
Crowley originally came to RARE after his elderly owner was no longer able to care for herself or for him. He ended up boarded at a veterinary clinic, and when his time there ran out, his family was told euthanasia was their only option because local shelters were full. Thankfully, the RARE community stepped up and Crowley got his second chance.
Now, he’s waiting for the chance to spend the rest of his life exactly where he belongs: in a loving home where he can be someone's best friend, couch buddy, fetch partner, and gentle giant.
And if Crowley really is 10? He certainly didn't get the memo. 😂❤️

Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care.
