Meet Yuma 🤍
Yuma is a 5-year-old husky mix with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul; a true gentle giant weighing in at around 70 lbs of pure love.
If you’re looking for a dog who just wants to be close to you, Yuma is your guy. He’s incredibly affectionate and will happily try to fit his big self into your lap, soaking up every bit of love he can get. He has the cutest, soft little “woo woos” that make you smile every time you hear them.
Yuma is:
• Incredibly sweet and gentle
• Great with other dogs (even if he’s a little intimidated by the tiny ones!)
• A total love bug who thrives on affection
• Enjoys walks and is working on perfecting his leash manners
• Well-behaved in the home
Yuma’s story is one of quiet resilience. In his previous home, he spent much of his time outdoors with a dog house for shelter. When his owner realized they couldn’t give him the life he deserved, they made the decision to surrender him, giving Yuma the chance to find a home where he can truly thrive.
And he’s making the most of that chance.
Despite everything, Yuma is nothing but loving, gentle, and trusting. He leans into affection, seeks out closeness, and just wants to be part of a family. Watching him discover comfort, soft places to rest, and consistent love has been incredibly special.
He would do wonderfully in a home that can continue helping him build confidence on leash, enjoy daily walks, and most importantly, give him all the love he’s been missing.
Yuma is the kind of dog who will quietly become your shadow, your cuddle buddy, and your best friend.
✨ If you have room in your home (and your lap) for a big, soft-hearted companion, Yuma is ready to love you forever.
Steps To Adopt
Read the adoptable’s bio above, including their adoption fee Go to RARErescue.org and read our ADOPTION PROCESS page under the "Adopt" section Complete the DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM (located on our website RARErescue.org) We understand that it is important to you to find the right fit for your family. We feel the same way! The DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIRED for this reason. All of our Adoptables are:Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines; Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program): Microchipped prior to adoptionBREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption. Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care. As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.
