Meet Milkshake! 💙🐾
Milkshake is a Golden Cocker Spaniel with a heart as soft as his coat and a personality that’s even sweeter than his name. This 36-pound boy is affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when he’s close to his people.
Milkshake came to RARE from a rural pound, and despite whatever his past may have looked like, he has never lost his love for people. He’s a total sweetheart who loves belly rubs, curling up on the couch, and snoozing in his dog bed near his foster at night. 🥰

Milkshake does occasionally enjoy playing with other dogs, especially smaller ones, but he's just as happy lounging around and soaking up attention. He appreciates having his own space when he's settling down, particularly if he's relaxing on the couch.
There is one important thing Milkshake's future family will need to understand: he does struggle with separation anxiety. He loves his people so much that being left alone can be difficult for him. Because of this, Milkshake needs an adopter who is committed to helping him work through his separation anxiety rather than expecting him to simply "get over it."
His forever family should be prepared to move at his pace and gradually build his comfort with being alone, and provide the consistency and patience he needs to feel secure. This may take time, but Milkshake is worth it. ❤️
He's not looking for someone who expects perfection. He's looking for someone who will say, "We'll figure this out together."

Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care.
